Be Still

Hello Dear Friends! You’ve heard me talk about being still and listening to our angels. When I say that, what are your initial thoughts? Take just a moment and ponder that… What does that mean to you… your spirituality, your temperament… take all those things in to consideration. But what does that mean? How can we do that? There are 2 parts: being still and listening to what the angels have to tell us.

Today we are going to talk about being still. I had a great reminder a few months ago that I needed to be more still. A dear friend of mine invited me to her online meditation class which I gladly accepted. During that class I was able to check in with my body and relax each and every part. At first I had a hard time turning my mind off and concentrating. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts which caused my arms and legs to be extremely fidgety. But after about 30 minutes, everything slowed down. My body was in deep relaxation, my mind at ease. Thoughts were able to just drift right on through like passing clouds. My inner storm had calmed. I was finally still. Mind and body.

So let’s work on relaxing our bodies and minds so that we can make ourselves more accessible to our angels. I am going to write out a meditation for you. You can perform it 2 ways. 1 – you can record yourself reading it in a calm, gentle voice to play back whenever you need it. And 2 – you can make your eyes soft and read it each time. Either way, you are going to want to get in a relaxed position, either laying down in whatever position is comfortable to you, or sitting up with your back supported and relaxed.

Next, we are going to take some big deep breathes. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, then breathe put for 4 seconds. Breathe in – – – – hold it – – – – exhale slowly – – – – and relax. Do this 3 or 4 times. After you’ve done this, notice your breathing. Don’t force it or try to make it any certain way. Just pay attention to how you are breathing. Notice the rise and fall of your chest/stomach.

Now, I want you to imagine you are at the ocean. You are lying on the sand. It feels so warm as the sun’s rays hit you and warm you all over. As you breathe in and out you sink further and further into the sand. Suddenly, the waves reach you toes. It feels so cool and refreshing! As the waves lap over your feet, imagine they are picking up all the negativity that may be coursing through your body. And when the wave retreats, it takes it all away and far out to sea. As you breathe in, the wave rolls in. Breathe out and the wave washes negativity away.

Now the waves are reaching your legs. As you breathe in, the waves roll in and as your breathe out, they roll away, back out to sea, taking with it, all your worries and concerns. In… and out… breathe and allow the waves to roll in and out…

Now the waves are at your stomach. As you breathe in, the waves roll in and as your breathe out, they roll away, back out to sea, taking with it, all your anxieties and troubles. In… and out… breathe and allow the waves to roll in and out…. Breathe.

Now the waves are at your chest. As you breathe in, the waves roll in and as your breathe out, they roll away, back out to sea, taking with it, all your troubles and cares. In… and out… breathe and allow the waves to roll in and out… breathe… breathe…

Now the waves are washing over your head, washing your whole body clean from any and all negativity, worries, doubts, anxieties…. As you breathe in, the waves roll in and as your breathe out, they roll away, back out to sea taking all the toxins with it.. In… and out… breathe and allow the waves to roll in and out… breathe… breathe…

Now imagine as you breathe in and out and the waves start to pull back, from you head…breathe… to your chest… breathe… back to your stomach… breathe… then legs… breathe… and feet… breathe… and finally your toes… breathe. Imagine that slowly. As you breathe in and out, work the waves down your body. Imagine how sparkly clean your body is, inside and out. You feel refreshed and renewed. Good job.

You can use this meditation to help when you feel like you can’t calm down, when your under pressure and stressed, or you just need to relax to go to sleep. My 7 year old loves to do this when she goes to bed! It really is a great way to relax. I love to do this when I really need to think. It clears my head of worries and allows me to think in a more productive manner. So this is your challenge this week. Practice this meditation or another one you like, and try to find your calm. With practice, you will able to be still more quickly and efficiently. And that is exactly what we need for our next step. Next week! An exercise for listening to our angels! Much Joy to you.
