For the last couple of weeks, we have been discussing how to be still and listen to our angels. Last week I gave you a meditation that would help in being calm and still. Today, I am going to give you a eurythmy exercise that will help you listen and trust your angels.
This exercise is called the IAO Exercise. It helps us to find balance and center between all our spaces. We find the balance between heaven and earth (the space above and below), learn to lean on our angels, and go and find connection in our community (the space in front and back). This will help us, again, lean to and listen to our angels. As we get to work, these doors will open for us. Let’s begin!
Start by standing comfortably in your space, feet slightly apart, arms hanging loosely by your side. Find yourself standing upright, yet comfortable. Do not strain your back nor your knees. Imagine that you are a pillar of light that extends beyond your physical limits. This light travels deep into the earth through your feet; and through the crown of your head, your light extends high into the heavens. Think to yourself the sound of the I, which is “ee.” Do not say it out loud, just feel that sound within you. Feel yourself as a bridge between heaven and earth. “Eeee.”
Now, shift your weight to your heels, keeping your whole foot on the ground. Lean back as if you are leaning into your angel’s arms. Feel loved and supported. Allow your angels to hold and carry your burdens away. Feel the sound of A, “Ah.” You are in awe of creation and trust in your angels to support you. “Ahhh…”
Now gently, shift your weight back through your center and then forward towards the balls of your feet, keeping your whole foot on the ground. Imagine your light has shifted forward, towards the world. Now imagine your angels embracing you from behind, holding you up as you move your thoughts into the world. Soften your chest and your heart. Feel the sound of O, “Oh.” Again, not saying it our loud but in your head, and feeling it all over your body. “Oh.” Embrace all of our planet, nature and humanity, as your angels forever support you. “Ohhh.”
Slowly return to your neutral upright position in center, with your weight evenly distributed throughout your feet. Feel yourself centered and balanced. You are now standing as a human being, connected to your highest self, the community around you, and your guardian angel who guides and protects you. Breathe. Relax. Repeat.
Repeat this exercise 3 times. After repeating, stand centered and cross your hands on your chest to feel reverence for what you’ve just done. Take a deep breath and allow the exercise to be sealed into your soul. Now go do the work you feel guided to do. Whether that work be in your own home, or out in the world, go and do it. Do it fearlessly, knowing you are being loved, guided, supported, and protected.
